Makes me feel like puking. I might even have a cougar as my avatar or in my signature if not for that. I started posting cougar pictures and looking at cougar videos on youtube.com when I ran across a slang definition of cougar I knew nothing about before. I might still include cougar images in some places, but I will not like having to disclaimer it due to the slang hijack. Also I did have a black panther picture on my wall for years as a kid so really do like the black panther (usually really a leopard or jaguar with dark coloring) as my favorite big cat. Wikipedia says of the new slang cougar is used for: Cougar refers to an older woman, usually in her 40s-60s[11] who sexually pursues younger men in their 20s or early 30s. Term used by TV series 30 Rock (episode "Cougars"), How I Met Your Mother (episode "Aldrin Justice"), 2 and a half men (episode "Waiting For The Right Snapper"), Supernatural (episode "Red Sky at Morning"), the NBC reality TV show Age of Love, CBC's jPod, and One Tree Hill. On film, it was used in 2004's National Lampoon's Going the Distance and in 2007's Ocean's Thirteen. The 2007 film Cougar Club was dedicated to the subject - its plot was about two males creating a club where parties are thrown where male members get the chance to meet and have sexual encounters with "cougars". I am all for people liking what they like as long as they are consenting adults. I just don't like when slang definitions become the dominant association of that word. Just my 2 cents on the issue.
Cross posted from Yahoo 360, please put comments here or both if anywhere since I'm trying to move over to Vox more.
Tonight the new episode of Battlestar Galactica will come on and I saw a 10 minute teaser on the sci fi channel the stream on from 9 am to 1 pm eastern time during the first ten minutes of the hour. I saw the teaser twice as well as the "next on Battlestar Galactica" spot that gave away over half of the episode. I know that going in but watch it anyway.
Looks like I am once again out of step with my 360 (and Vox, this will probably be copied and pasted there too) circle since I don't think there are many BSG fans here who blog or read much anymore. I know this is what the BSG forums are for, but this being my blog I'm going to blog about it anyway. I even have BSG as a myspace "friend". I heard of Battlestar Galactica being remade, but admit I did not check it out at all until the third season was about to start and Comcast had it as a free on demand show. I saw a half hour show that caught me up on the series as well as 3 of what many argue are among the best episodes of the series, "Pegasus" and "Resurrection Ship" parts one and two.
I would also get the BSG movie Razor. It told the "Pegasus" side of the story from the start of the second cylon war until the Pegasus and Galactica met in the episode called "Pegasus", an obvious title. I could go on and on about BSG and probably will at another time. I need to do a few things before tonight's episode of BSG starts.
When I get another job, I probably will just get the BSG DVD sets and since this will be the last season, they probably will have a huge "whole series" set. I'm trying to cut down on collecting anything, but I do like this show that much.
American Idol: I did put it in my blog title so I am going to post about it. As I thought it will boil down to David vs David. I am going to pull for David Cook more for not wanting David "Archie" Archuleta to win as being for David Cook. I went years without watching AI at all. Last year between the online blog circles getting into it so much and my roommates watching then later DVR recording it to see it, I became curious about who would win. Beware David Cook fans I seem to be a "jinx" and when I kind of sort of like someone at all they seem to get "voted off" or lose.
Ok, huge ego moment for me since my opinion really makes no difference in the outcome of American Idol. Still frustrating that I just start to like a contestant then they get voted off.
Both my roommates want David Cook to win and my cousin's g/f really likes "Cookie" a lot. My cousin is a fan of Taylor Swift (this hot girl country singer) and has her as a computer wallpaper so does not mind that his g/f openly squees and nearly screams for David Cook. David Archuleta has a good voice, but to me is kind of blah with almost all ballad choices that seem to me to be more like annoying lullabys.
More power to you who like David Cook, I just look at him and go "meh". I liked "Beatbox" Blake much better, though I admit I never did go on to get his CD either. I never have bought a CD by anyone from American Idol yet. The show gives me a chance to hang out with my roommates and have something to talk about even if it's me not agreeing about how great David Cook is. To me, "Cookie" looks ok but is not hot and sounds ok but again is nothing I would go out of my way to listen to or buy.
It seems Yahoo 360 the site I blog in most prepares to either shut down or change so much that my friends want to migrate to this "vox" site instead. So far I see a lot of similarities between this and 360's blog site. One feature I do like better already, the ability to chose on a blog by blog basis who can see what blog. So now I no longer have to have an all or nothing about everyone seeing everything. I can even make totally private journal entries if I want to (keeping in mind that if someone breaks into my account in general they may see those too).
Off to see how much of the profile I want to fill in.

Ya...I really love that I can control who can read my posts. Too cool for school. read more
